While disheartening to learn about the picket by OPSEU Local133, we very much respect our employees’ right to voice opinions about working at CMHA Elgin and we want to ensure they remain satisfied, healthy and feel supported at work.
Our organization places tremendous value on our employees for their ongoing dedication and hard work. Every day, they create positive impact for the clients and families we serve. Without them, there would be no CMHA Elgin.
Together, CMHA Elgin staff and management have the best interests of our clients and the community in mind. We want our colleagues to enjoy coming to work in a supportive and communicative environment. That’s why we take these allegations seriously. We encourage our staff to tell us how they feel about workplace culture and bring their voice to two regular and ongoing meetings, the Labour Management Relations Committee (which meets next week) and our Health and Safety Committee. Both committees have been in existence for many years, and allow a forum where we – as staff, management and union representation – can collaboratively resolve issues.
