Free Family Education Series
CMHA Elgin is pleased to announce a Free Family Education Series for family members of people living with mental illness. Families can play a valuable role in supporting their loved ones’ in achieving their treatment and recovery goals. This series will run Thursday evenings from 6:00PM – 8:30PM from April 12th to May 31st and will provide education to help family members understand diagnoses and treatment, navigate the mental health care system, and employ strategies to reduce stress and promote empowerment.
This series is free. Participants must be able to commit to attending all 8 weeks of the series. Registration is limited, so sign up soon!
- Who: Any family member, caregiver, or friend, living in Elgin County, actively supporting someone with mental illness
- Where: Location will be provided to registrants.
- When: Thursday evenings, 6:00PM to 8:30PM, April 12th to May 31st. Participants must attend all 8 sessions.
- Why: To provide accessible community based education and support for family members/caregivers so they feel empowered in supporting their loved ones.
