Brief Counselling
We offer up to 8 brief solution focused counselling sessions to individuals aged 16 or older living in St. Thomas and Elgin County who are experiencing challenges coping with day to day experiences and leading healthy lives due to mental health, relationship difficulties or problems at work and/or school, to name a few. We currently only offer single person counselling (no couples/families).
Psychotherapy is intentional/structured interventions in order to help individuals reach their preferred ways of living. This includes bringing positive change to the individual’s life. Our counselling program involves individuals attending sessions with an agreed plan/approach, with informed consent to the process, and with an understanding that counselling is a process that requires work and commitment.
Services are available by appointment, Monday through Friday between 9:00am and 4:30pm. We are currently offering services through phone and video. Our counsellors are equipped with numerous counselling and psychotherapy approaches such as Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Attachment based therapy. Additional support is available through our Crisis & Intake team.
